Not much beats a nice fresh cup of hot chai tea on a chilly winters day.
The next closest is the other end of the scale, a frozen smoothie bowl on a warm summer morning.
By adding in several of the traditional chai spices to my smoothie, it gave it that extra depth and flavour often lacking from a normal smoothie.
Ingredients:
(depends on how many people - my recipe as shown)
2 frozen bananas
1/2 cup filtered water
1 scoop vanilla ESA protein powder
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground all spice
1 tsp ground cardammon
spiced toasted trail mix to top, or choose your topping
Method:
1. Add the frozen banana, water and protein to a blender and begin to blend, slowly increasing the speed until it begins to soften enough to blend.
2. Add in all the spices and blend until smooth, keeping an ice-cream-like consistency.
3. Pour into a bowl and top with your desired topping.
